Zuzana (she/her) is passionate about the intersection of disability justice and health policy in the field of both clinical and academic medicine. She hopes to pursue a career as a physician and consultant to help broaden the currently established medical health model to properly and justly care for all disabled individuals appropriately with their needs and wants at the forefront of their care.
As an autistic individual that went long undiagnosed due to not appropriately fitting the image that much of research identified autism to look like, Zuzana gained a front row seat to the injustices that lack of diversity and visibility create on individuals in medical settings. She quickly learned that if you do not fit the stereotype, you are left behind and as a result without the appropriate supports.
After a long 20+ year journey towards identifying and learning more about herself in the context of her autism diagnosis, Zuzana has developed a love for disability advocacy and a mission to increase the understanding of disabled voices in academic and applied settings.
Additionally, she holds a vested interest in the trifecta that falls under the accessibility umbrella (as she likes to call it): education, employment, and health care.
